ANNOUNCEMENT Itô Prize 2009
 

The 2009 Itô prize will be presented at the

33rd Conference on Stochastic Processes and their Applications, Berlin, Germany from 27 - 31 July 2009.

The Editor and the Editorial Board (2006-2009) of the journal Stochastic Processes and their Applications are delighted to announce that a decision has been reached to award the Itô prize 2009 to the author of the paper

 “A coarse graining for the Fortuin-Kasteleyn measure in random media”, by Marc Wouts, Volume 118, pages 1929-1972 (2008).

This prize is awarded in recognition of significant contributions to the advancement of the theory or applications of stochastic processes, and consists of an award of $5000 which will be presented to the author at the 2009 SPA Conference in Berlin.

The prize honors the vast and seminal contributions of Professor Kiyosi Itô towards mathematics and to the probability theory. The winning article was selected by the (2006-2009) Editorial Board members and the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Stochastic Processes and their Applications.

Amir Dembo (Stanford) will present his paper during the
33rd Conference on Stochastic Processes and their Applications, Berlin, Germany, 27-31 July 2009.
