AFFDU Awards in 2008

For doctoral students in their final year of research and dissertation

AFFDUEstablished in 1920 as a utilitarian organization, the French Association of University Women (Affdu) has as its primary objective the promotion of the access of women to higher education as well as to senior positions and furthering professional and friendly relations of exchanges at national and international levels.

At the national level, the Affdu attributes financial aid to allow women to pursue their studies at doctoral and post-doctoral level.

Financial grants for 2008:

As has been the practice in the past, the Affdu offers individual grants ranging from € 1000 to € 1500 euros; this amount is complementary to other financial allocations made to the fellow.

The grants are intended to assist doctoral graduate students, in their last academic/research year, to complete their studies through study grants abroad; for French women this would mean study travel outside France, and for foreign students study grants in France.

Taking note of the academic disciplines to which young women usually subscribe, priority will be given to the following academic fields: informatics, mathematics, physics, chemistry, engineering, as well as economic and social sciences and finance.

Applications should be submitted by 31 march 2008 and addressed to :
